Alice in Wonderland

Amo Tim Burton e i suoi film da sempre, chi mi conosce bene avrà visto anche le foto del mio book in stile Helena Bonham Carter, quindi potete immaginare con quanta trepidazione sto aspettando l’uscita di “Alice in Wonderland”, in cui troviamo una Alice non più vittima degli eventi, passiva, ma finalmente un pò più donna. Diversi stilisti hanno disegnato abiti ed accessori ispirati al film, che sono già esposti in vetrina da Printemps Paris, e ci rimarranno fino al 14 Marzo.

A colpirmi di più sono state le scarpe create da Nicholas Kirkwood, dei bellissimi sandali souvenir da tenere in bella vista più che da indossare; la forma delle scarpe è quella più cara allo stilista, ma le decorazioni rimandano ad una terra florida con fiori enormi e colorati e foglie verde brillante. Non possono ovviamente mancare pizzi e tessuti preziosi, nè tantomeno una teiera legata al sandalo, insieme all’orologio del Bianconiglio, scelto perchè “grande e prominente, lontano dallo stile classico fatto di silhoutte asciutte” scelto di solito da Kirkwood.
Una creazione così visionaria, artisticamente ricca e assolutamente inutilizzabile mancava da tempo, sono proprio contenta di poterla ammirare.

I, as tons of other people around the world, am a huge fan of Tim Burton’s movies, I have even posed for some gothic yet dreamlike photos that reminded me of Helena Bonham Carter character in “Sweeney Todd”, so you can immagine how excited I am for his new movie “Alice in Wonderland”, in which we meet an older Alice, not as static as she was in the classic version. Many denigners have worked on clothes and accessories that are now shown in the windows of Printemps Paris, and I feel in love with Nicolas Kirkwood heels as soon as my eyes laid on them.
The shape of the shoes is Kirwood’s favourite, but he enriched it with red flowers, bright green leaves, and, of course, the hare’s watch and a tiny little teapot. Here what he said about it: “I think my favorite Alice character is the March Hare. You can see I’ve made his watch rather prominent. This was a different design process for me, because I’m not usually so applicative—typically, I’m thinking about line, silhouette. But this time, I figured, why not just pile as much as I can on top?” —Nicholas Kirkwood
